As I stood watching the Veteran's Day program, I reflected on where we were a year ago. How overwhelmed and anxious I felt. Such a relief to be on this side. It seems that the year went fast when looking back, but time sure did stand still.
My husbands 89 year old grandfather was our date at the ball. I love that AJ can experience this with him ever year. The realization he is aging and won't be around forever hit AJ that night. I remember that feeling when my Mamaw was sick. Grandpa danced until 10:30 and was up bright and early. It was so nice to see the family that got through the past year with us. Friends for life for sure.
