We have finally gotten some deployment answers. We know our Marines are leaving about two months after we had originally anticipated and will maybe only spend 4 months in country. I have to say I am relieved. I was talking with another Marine wife last night and we both knew that our Marines would be disappointed if they didn't get sent over after all this training in CA. (They have been gone since October.) As a military family, there is some financial benefit to a deployment. Tax free, extra pay, saving on car insurance and cell phones. A little chance to get ahead. This year has been hard on us. I gave up a great job as a real estate broker to stay home and keep our family strong. I felt it was more important to be more frugal and be home with our boys when they needed it the most. I do look forward to getting ahead a bit this year. Especially since I am starting grad school. I know that I will hold my breath for every minute that he is over there. I love the convenience of being able to call, text, E-mail, Skype whenever I feel like it. So excited we are under 20 days until he meets us in Florida. Ready for some R & R and some great family time. G has been doing so much more since he left just a month ago. It will be hard to let him go again, but so thankful we get this time with him!
