I am so excited about this giveaway! Behind the Blue-Star Banner is a must read for anyone who has ever gone through a deployment or is currently facing a deployment. Michelle Cuthrell, an Army wife and mother to two boys, really has helped me to remember to choose joy when facing a deployment. She reminded me through this book that I can use this time away from my husband as a time of growth, or I can just get through it. I choose to grow and see what I can do with this time! My absolute favorite quote from the book is,

During a deployment I have learned that I can do whatever I put my mind to and that I also have some amazing military friends to help me when I am having a bad day!

DeleteThis is the first time I am going through a deployment with my husband. We have a 7 month old son. During these 4 months he's been away, I've stayed busy. I interact with family and friends and it has definitely helped me. Yes i miss my husband a lot but I have learned to be more independent. I've set goals for myself and I'm accomplishing them. This deployment has taught me a lot and I am happy with myself.
